The Lima Church

The Lima/Allen County Church of Christ was previously meeting as the Lima/Bath Church of Christ when we were located In Bath Township.  We moved to Lima in 2013 and later changed the name to The Lima/Allen County Church of Christ to suit our new location.  We are meeting in a residential setting at 1032 N. Main St. in Lima, Ohio.  We are Bible based in every way with the belief that the word of God does not change in accordance with societal shifts, time, or any other influence of man.  Our services are as follows:

Sunday Afternoon Bible Study (For all ages) ----------------- 4:00 P.M.

Sunday Evening Assembly ---------------------------------------- 5:00 P.M.

Wednesday Night Prayer Meeting ------------------------------- 6:30 P.M.

Evangelism

We began our ministry in Africa in 2000. I (Bob Hartman) was preaching at a stateside assembly in Lima, Ohio. For some time I had been feeling the call to move forward and in 2000 I was invited to go to Ghana, Africa to teach at a family camp. It was during this time that I toured Ghana and I was convicted concerning the need for the teaching of Jesus Christ and the lack of well established churches in the Northern and Upper East regions. After two years I returned to Ghana with my wife (Rose) my children and their spouses, and my grandchildren. We spent one month touring the country and teaching about Jesus Christ. Upon our return I fasted and prayed for three days before making the decision to return to Africa for six months every year, which we have been doing since 2003. We have planted churches in many villages and we have worked with many established churches, mostly in the remote areas of the north, to teach the gospel and train leaders.

In my experience I have seen many ministries that lose sight of the key focus of evangelism and sacrifice. It is our earnest desire to preach the gospel as far as God will send us in the most efficient way possible as stewards of the mystery of God, and stewards of what God has given us to work with. We do not see ourselves as a business organization or as corporate figures.  We see ourselves as servants of God.  We believe that this life is temporary and that we are not to lay up treasures here on earth, but we are to lay them up in heaven.

Our ministry has spread throughout Ghana and has entered into the countries of Burkina Faso and Thailand. Our son, Clint Hartman, has also been called of God to enter into this great work in the nation of Thailand. Please visit our site to see what our work is about.

May the God of hope continue to work through us to bring the message of hope to the world.
